Sustainable Energy Solutions: Are You Thinking About an Electric Vehicle?
Investing in sustainable energy solutions offers numerous opportunities for individuals and businesses alike.
Individuals can invest in electric vehicles, solar panels, wind turbines, or other sustainable energy technologies.
Businesses can also benefit from investing in sustainable energy solutions to reduce their energy costs, increase energy efficiency, and improve environmental sustainability factors. Investing in sustainable energy can help businesses meet their corporate social responsibility goals and are often used in marketing campaigns.
The development and deployment of sustainable energy technologies require new research and development, manufacturing, and installation services, all of which can create job opportunities.
Here at Modesto Executive Electric, we are currently zeroing in on electrical vehicles, correlating infrastructure to support both businesses and residential homes, and commercial generators.
Before You Get Your EV (Electric Vehicle)
Before you dive into the electrical vehicle (EV) universe, there are a lot of things to consider. I’m not just talking about choosing between a Tesla Model Y, a Ford Lightning Pickup or whatever EV it is that fits your personal or business needs, but also one of the biggest things for your consideration is where and how will I charge the vehicle?
Don’t forget that!
Therefore, when choosing your new electric vehicle, you must also determine what kind of electrical capacity you have available at your home (or business) if you plan on having your own EV charger.
If you’re a business, this could be even more challenging if you’re going to be taking into consideration to transition company vehicles into EVs, as you’ll need to have a fleet that you can keep charged and this will require more and/or larger capacity chargers.
Different Levels of EV Charging Stations
RESIDENTIAL: There are a few different levels of EV charging stations and several manufacturers to choose from. Typically, residential installations will have a level 1 or level 2 EV charger and can be used to charge your vehicle when at home.
Some can even be programmed to activate after peak hours to take advantage of off-peak electric rates. Charging at home can be very convenient and usually the most cost-effective way to charge your vehicle.
BUSINESS: If you are a business owner and have commercial needs, level 2 or level 3 may be what you need, though this will depend on how many vehicles you need to charge as this is a vital factor that will need to be taken into consideration as well.
The newest and fastest level 4 charging stations typically are used for large trucks and buses as these need a much higher voltage and current available, and possibly a direct connection to the grid.
Do you own a retail property? If you own a retail property or business and thinking about installing EV chargers for public use for your customers?
If so, there are EV charging options that have payment options that can increase foot traffic in your business and possibly give you some additional revenue! (Who doesn’t want that?!)
